An HRD Antwerp report independently records a diamond’s identity and quality factors. Treat it as evidence—not a substitute for seeing the stone.
What Is HRD Diamond Certification?
HRD Antwerp is a diamond laboratory associated with the Antwerp trade. Its natural-diamond grading report confirms that the examined stone is a natural diamond and documents the 4Cs plus identifying and finish information.

How HRD Compares with GIA and IGI
HRD, GIA, and IGI are separate laboratories with their own documents, terminology, procedures, and market presence. A matching letter or clarity symbol should not be treated as proof that two different labs will always make identical judgments on the same borderline stone.
The disciplined comparison is report-specific: confirm identity, understand the grading system named on that document, inspect the diamond, and price it against genuinely comparable stones. The laboratory name is one input, not a quality grade by itself.
Is an HRD-Certified Diamond Worth Buying?
Yes, an HRD-graded diamond can be worth buying when the report verifies cleanly, the stone performs well in person, and the price reflects the total evidence. The report does not guarantee beauty, value, or suitability for a particular setting.
