Custom Design

Custom engagement rings, designed through a more personal process.

Custom design begins when the right ring does not already exist. We translate references, sketches, heirloom details, and practical constraints into a design that can be built with precision, not just imagined beautifully.

Led by a Graduate Gemologist, the process moves from conversation to proportions, diamond selection, CAD, and refinement. The result is a piece made for one person, not a customized version of something meant for everyone.

From Direction to Form

A design becomes real through refinement.

The technical direction is established first. From there, volume, structure, setting height, and balance are resolved before the finished piece is reviewed against the original intent.

02 · Finished Piece

The completed ring, reviewed against the approved direction before it is presented.

The Custom Process

How a custom piece takes shape.

Custom design is not a menu of styles. It is a sequence of decisions that keeps the finished piece aligned with the original direction.

  1. 01 Conversation

We begin with references, lifestyle, what the piece should express, and how it will be worn.

  2. 02 Direction

Sketches and CAD translate that direction into proportion, structure, stone placement, and setting height.

  3. 03 Refinement

The design is adjusted until it reads correctly from every angle and the diamond, setting, and smaller details feel resolved together.

  4. 04 Completion

The appropriate workshop carries the piece through production, setting, finishing, and final review against the approved direction.

  5. 05 Gemological Oversight

Diamonds and materials are selected for the design, not because they happen to be available in a case. Each decision is reviewed for beauty, suitability, and the finished piece.

  6. 06 Workshop, Timing & Service

The workshop is chosen for the requirements of the piece. Most projects are completed approximately four to six weeks after design approval. Clients may meet in Charlotte or South Charlotte, while many projects are completed remotely.
