Three Generations in the Diamond Trade
Hourglass Diamonds was born from a legacy spanning three generations. Justin Smith, a GIA Graduate Gemologist, grew up surrounded by stories of his grandfather's diamond mining operations in South America during the 1950s. These tales instilled both knowledge and wonder, sparking a lifelong passion for fine jewelry.
Justin’s background includes managing diamond laboratories, consulting internationally within the gemstone trade, and overseeing diamond and gemstone sourcing on a global scale. His work has included wholesale partnerships with established jewelers around the world. With time, the breadth of the industry revealed what endures most trust, care, and personal connection.
